Project Background:

Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) is the largest and most profitable non-oil company in the Middle East and the fifth largest petrochemical product manufacturer in the world. Its production network in Saudi Arabia has 17 subsidiaries and multiple chemical plants, most of which are located in Al-Jubair Industrial City, located in the Arabian Gulf on the Persian Gulf. The chemical plant has experienced operations and upgrades during the New Year. Accumulation of large amounts of data is difficult to manage, customers have worked with multiple information system service providers to develop different information management systems, but they have to abandon them due to various problems such as inability to meet the actual use needs of customers, insufficient compatibility, and insufficient data processing capabilities.

customers have found China Map Company in Nanjing, China, hoping to help them deal with these urgent problems with China Map's years of experience in the industry. The Chinese map quickly responded to the customer's needs, through preliminary research to sort out the customer's crux, the formation of a project team. After 18 months, the Chinese team of engineers successfully helped the Middle Eastern petrochemical giant Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) to build an intelligent plant management system STIMS. Let's see how they do it:

customer problem: the original old system is backward in function and poor in ductility, and the data of several sub-factories cannot be centrally managed, which has seriously lagged behind the management and application requirements of customers at this stage. Owners, operators, professional personnel from different angles and levels of system transformation requirements.

Graph Solution:

Combined with the original system, referring to the international advanced mainstream factory information management method, a new general factory information management solution is proposed, and the STIMS system is redefined. The STIMS system adopts a unified architecture, component-based applications, and sub-entry management to avoid risks such as incomplete system construction, insufficient application breadth, and incompatible upgrades. According to the owner's use, the SmartPlant Foundation of Eagle Map PP & M information management system is selected as the central basic platform of STIMS system, and the design and development are carried out in combination with SABIC management characteristics and the requirements of its engineering facilities specifications and coding rules.

customer problem: the factory has accumulated a large number of paper documents in the process of operation and transformation for many years, and it is even difficult to count them.

Graph Solution:

use graphics recognition technology to achieve document preprocessing and extract the original file. And build a document structure, to achieve the classification of professional documents, according to customer needs to develop standardized data templates, to achieve the identification of key information, error correction, release thousands of intelligent P & IDs drawings.

customer problem: due to the inconsistent form of data files and a large number of errors and invalid contents, key data extraction cannot be effectively carried out. In the process of project implementation, the owner constantly proposes modification, change, deletion and supplement.

Graph Solution:

organize the comparison of travel data of professional engineers in many professional rooms such as pipeline, process, electrical, instrument, civil engineering, etc., implement the four-level quality control process in the figure, complete the indexing and uploading of more than 300,000 data, and ensure the data accuracy rate reaches more than 95%.

Customer Problem: Due to post-management requirements, the customer requires the integration of data from several sub-factories and puts forward strict requirements on system efficiency.

Graph Solution:

through the database programming to achieve data structure optimization, reduce the system reaction time, improve system efficiency.

customer problems: and due to inadequate management, the data between factories and the data standards provided by suppliers in the same factory at different times are not uniform and cannot be used in the system.

Graph Solution:

According to the characteristics of the factory to develop a common data template, through the unified rules to ensure the effectiveness and correctness of data into the system.

customer problems: factory operation and maintenance personnel are not familiar with the details of the data, and each professional is independent.

Graph Solution:

develop Web Portal, customize access channels for different roles, dispatch professionals to write process specifications for different roles, conduct differentiated on-site training for each role of customers, test the training results, and finally issue qualified induction certificates.

Customer problem: Customers put forward very high information security requirements for data, and there are information security risks in the process of data transfer and data processing.

Graph Solution:

Hardware: the establishment of a closed independent project space, the use of video surveillance system to ensure the integrity of the project physical data.

Software: Cooperate with China Soft to formulate a ISO27001 high-security information security strategy, encrypt local data, and only open a few controllable windows for data handover and delivery, fully ensuring the quality and integrity of the data.

customer problem: some of the factory data involves confidential content, third parties are prohibited from accessing the data, and some of the content needs to be completed on the customer's internal network.

Graph Solution:

Customize the standardized upload process for customers, help customers complete the processing of some data remotely, and develop fully automated upload and self-test tools. Develop a silent installation package to complete the integration configuration on the customer system.

After months of hard work, STIMS for PETROKEMYA system was officially launched in March 2015, and STIMS for SAFCO was officially launched in July 2015, which was unanimously approved by the owners. At present, China Map is continuing to provide system maintenance services for SABIC, and the second phase of this project will continue to be carried out soon.
